Cooperating Organizations

The Nebraska Corn Board provides funding support for a number of cooperating organizations that help advance the interest of Nebraska corn farmers and their customers. In many cases, NCB is able to leverage its investments through collaboration with other corn states as well as through the use of federal funds, especially as they relate to global market development. Here are a few of the major cooperators that receive checkoff funding from the Nebraska Corn Board:

IANR serves as the primary research partner of the Nebraska Corn Board. Over the years, IANR has worked with NCB on a wide variety of projects designed to build demand, identify new uses for corn, improve productivity and sustainability, reduce input costs, and support the state’s livestock and ethanol industries.

Formed in 2005 by the leading agricultural organizations in Nebraska, AFAN is primarily focused on encouraging the development of responsible livestock production in the state and working with communities and Nebraska leaders to create opportunities for industries that add value to Nebraska’s agricultural output and energize the economy.

With a network of offices and representatives around the world, USGC promotes international trade for corn, corn co-products, ethanol and distillers grains—as well as for sorghum and barley. The USGC mission is to develop markets, enable trade and improve lives. Through its support of USMEF, the Nebraska Corn Board helps build global markets for Nebraska-produced corn as well as for Nebraska’s ethanol industry.

The mission of USMEF is to Increase the value and profit opportunities for the U.S. beef, pork, and lamb industries by enhancing demand in export markets through a coordinated and collaborative partnership of all stakeholders. “Simply put, USMEF is ‘putting’ U.S. meat on the world’s table.” Through its support of USMEF, the Nebraska Corn Board helps build demand for Nebraska beef and pork—and the corn and distillers grains used to feed those animals.

Founded in 1957, the National Corn Growers Association represents more than 40,000 dues-paying corn farmers nationwide and the interests of more than 300,000 growers who contribute through corn checkoff programs in their states. NCGA and its 49 affiliated state organizations work together to create and increase opportunities for corn growers. NCGA is one of the nation’s most respected voices for U.S. agriculture.

NeCGA is a membership organization made up of Nebraska corn farmers and affiliates, with local chapters across the state. Members pay annual dues to NeCGA, which advocates on behalf of corn farmers in the Nebraska legislature and on Capitol Hill. NeCGA also provides leadership and educational opportunities for its members—and sponsors a number of events and promotions.
