Harvest 89% Complete

The last week harvest activities were slowed by high winds causing lodging of harvested corn. According to USDA’s NAtional Agricultural Statistics Service, Nebraska Field office, fire danger was also high due to the dry, windy conditions. Amidst all that, corn harvest is 89% complete, one month ahead of the average.

Temperatures averaged 2 – 5 degrees above normal across the state. Highs reached the low 80’s and lows dropped all the way to the upper 20’s. Precipitation was seen in mainly eastern border counties, the most recieved i the Northeast District.
